7 Curated Adventures
Louisiana's ranked summits are mostly a cluster of forested hills in Bienville Parish, in the north-central part of the state — real named high ground, but nothing that would register as a mountain anywhere else in the country. The state's own high point, Driskill Mountain, tops out at 535 feet right in that cluster — still one of the lowest state high points in the country, though taller than Florida's Britton Hill (344 feet) or Delaware's Ebright Azimuth (448 feet). Two more entries, Negro Foot Hill and Les Grandes Côtes, sit farther south through central Louisiana; Laborde Mountain is the outlier, a low rise near Lake Pontchartrain's north shore in the state's far southeast, hundreds of miles from the rest of the group. False Mountain's 0.9-mile out-and-back and Laborde Mountain's 0.9-mile loop tie as the shortest hikes; Negro Foot Hill's 2.5-mile out-and-back is the longest. 18 more Louisiana summits are already queued in the database — these 7 are simply the ones with a confirmed route and elevation profile today.
