Mississippi's ranked summits cluster in the hill country of the state's far northeast corner, in Tishomingo, Prentiss and Itawamba counties near the Alabama and Tennessee lines, the same limestone-and-sandstone hill belt that runs into Alabama's own foothills. The state's official high point, Woodall Mountain, tops out at 806 feet in that same corner — but it's still an unverified queue entry without a confirmed route, so it isn't in this list yet, the same gap already flagged for Illinois' Charles Mound. What's live instead tops out at Crum Mountain, 725 feet. One live entry isn't a natural summit at all: Bynum Mounds is a Native American ceremonial mound complex on the Natchez Trace Parkway, built roughly 2,000 years ago during the Middle Woodland period — Pharr Mounds, a larger complex on the same parkway, is still an unverified queue entry too, like Woodall Mountain, not yet in this list. Gobblers Knob and Sand Hill tie as the shortest hikes in the group at 0.8 miles; Bynum Mounds' 7.5-mile trail is the longest. 14 more Mississippi summits are already queued in the database — these 11 are simply the ones with a confirmed route and elevation profile today.
